Job Description:
The selected candidate for this posting will work alongside Compass’ Professional Surveyor and office staff and be responsible for supporting the survey basemapping, right-of-way plan development, legal description and exhibit preparation, document research, field pack preparation and boundary resolution under the direct supervision of a Professional Surveyor. The candidate will be required to coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team and work in a variety of CADD platforms.
Technical Responsibilities will include:
Preparation of survey basemaps, drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs using a variety of CADD platforms
Preparation of right-of-way plans, exhibits, legal descriptions, spreadsheets
Download LiDAR, aerial photography and other GIS data from public domain sites
Ensure quality by implementing Compass’s quality control procedures
Learn new skills under the direction of the Professional Surveyor and other Senior staff members
What You Bring:
5+ years of experience in CADD applications such as Civil3D, ODOT OpenRoads State kit, Bentley OpenRoad designer, Trimble TBC
ODOT Right of Way Plan Designer Prequalification (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
Experience in OpenRoad Designer ODOT State Kit Right of Way plan preparation
ODOT plan drafting and setup
ProjectWise navigation and familiarity
Experience with OpenRoad Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
Perform tasks and use problem solving skills independently with some oversight and assistance
Strong organizational skills and sound judgement in establishing priorities for project work
Willingness to be flexible and learn new skills
Cooperative, team-oriented spirit
Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Must have a satisfactory background test.
