The position is well suited to an engineer that enjoys being the task leader on roadway projects, serving as a mentor for junior staff development, and implementing our design quality control process. Job Description:
The selected candidate for this position will be a roadway engineer at Compass. This candidate will be expected to be flexible and perform both technical and entrepreneurial duties, as well as learning new skills to help develop additional prequalification’s and capabilities for the firm.
Technical Responsibilities include:
Lead the roadway design disciplines for Compass’s projects
Be responsible for scope, budget, and schedule conformance for roadway tasks
Ensure quality by implementing Compass’s quality control procedures
Learn new skills from mentor firms through the ODOT DBE Development Program
Business responsibilities include:
Participate in proposal development and client development meetings
Participate in project scope and fee development
Serving as Project Manager or Discipline Manager
Selecting and hiring future staff members
Mentor and training of junior staff members
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer in Kentucky, or ability to obtain by reciprocity
10 to 20+ years of transportation industry experience
High-Quality experience with geometric, roadway, drainage, maintenance of traffic, and/or traffic control design and plan production
Previous experience with KYTC projects
Experience with Microstation and OpenRoads Designer
Leadership potential
Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Must have a satisfactory background test
